Trevor Bayne won the opening round of the 2011 season of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Daytona 500, fifty-third edition of the name.
The day after his 20th birthday, Trevor Bayne became the youngest driver in history to win the Daytona 500.
Bayne, who was only at the second start of his career in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, was able to navigate through the 15 neutralization to bring the legendary No. 21 Ford for Wood Brothers in the circle of winners of the Daytona 500 for the first time since 1976.
"I can not thank them enough guys on the team for giving me a car as strong,"said Bayne. It's really cool to bring the car in the Wood brothers'
winner's circle. "
Indeed, the small team of Stuart, Virginia, which has existed since 1950, had not won since the triumph of Elliott Sadler at Bristol in 2001.
