Anyone ever see an NFL game or two this year is undoubtedly aware that the league is cracking down (with heavy fines and penalties) on the rates of violent helmet to helmet hits that can cause a concussion any hitter of the hittee. And for good reason - the NFL and a number of independent organizations have found that this type of head injury can be much more damaging long term than previously thought.
What does all this have to do with cars? Glad you asked. The investigation of hull designs new technologies is currently underway, and something interesting, Toyota has been able to provide data from some universities that is valuable both for research of automobile safety and head injuries related to sport using their THUMS Casualty Simulation Software.
Sounds pretty good so far, right? In fact, Toyota was so pleased with his contributions to secure them highlighted in an ad that aired during the Sunday slate of NFL games.
