At the forefront of its segment, the
Chevrolet Camaro is preparing to write a new chapter in its history with the premiere of the
2011 Camaro Convertible at LA Show. Production of the new model will be launched in January for marketing in February. It includes an improved body structure and a mechanism suitable roof, a mixture intended to provide driving pleasure and the precise quality of a sports coupe.
The convertible will be offered in configurations similar to the coupe. The production model will be powered by a 312-hp V6 with direct injection consumes 8.1 liters per 100 km on the road. The SS model will benefit from a 6.2 liter V8 producing 426 hp. A six-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard and a six-speed automatic transmission optional.
The
Camaro took the lead in sales in its segment in the U.S. with the coupe launched in spring 2009 as a 2010 model. The right to acquire one of the first convertibles was recently sold at auction house Barrett-Jackson for $ 205 000, all proceeds being donated to charity. The
2011 Camaro Convertible Neiman Marcus Edition, a group of 100 cars featuring exclusive design elements created to measure and cost $ 75 000, were all sold in three short minutes.
