EICMA 2010: 2011 BMW R 1200 R, the revised
BMW shows at the Milan EICMA motorcycle show (2-07.11.2010) the revised R 1200 R. It is driven by the future of the BMW HP2 Sport Boxer derived engine with 1170 cc engine capacity, as is already in the R 1200 GS and R 1200 RT is used. This performance increased to 81 kW / 110 hp at 7750 revolutions per minute and the maximum torque to 119 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The maximum speed was around 500 rpm to 8500 U / min increased. Visible is the new engine on the four instead of two cylinder head bolts as well as the shorter exhaust.
While presenting the BMW R 1200 R in the base version with new cast aluminum wheels, a sporty all-rounder, is the R 1200 R Classic on classic wire-spoke wheels. The demarcation of the two new roadster models is also reflected in the painting and other features. The state of the fork tube diameter increased in both models to 41 mm. Other new features include the cockpit design with two analog round gauges and the hydraulic tank in smoked glass look. Optional for the R 1200 R R 1200 R Classic and the electronic suspension adjustment (ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) are, integral ABS and ASC stability control available.
